It is hard to imagine that a home as splendid and extravagant as the in Texas was a dark and dingy structure from the 1980s until recently. It was only after its new owners turned to Miró Rivera Architects that the true potential of this fabulous Texas home and the lot on which it sits were fully realized.
Visualized with plenty of urban flair and a dash of greenery by Buro 108 the gorgeous home welcomes you with a grand living area that is clad entirely in gray. There is undoubtedly a modern industrial feel to the with the outstanding lounge that contains an indoor plant and a round tree seat becoming the showstopper here.
The arrangement of the three individual units is inspired by rocks around a campfire and the simplicity of their design and striking dark exterior make them even more appealing. The black cladding also lets the home blend into the forest and melt away after sunset while it stands out as a gorgeous contemporary addition during the day. Large glass doors and windows connect the interior with the landscape even as the living area bedrooms and kids’ bunk beds exude an air of serenity and unassuming charm.
Designed by SO Architecture it is two large boxes that make up the overall design of the residence with the one on the ground providing partial support for the second box above. A steel frame also provides additional support creating an open living area that contains the kitchen and dining room.
Since the image of a lifeguard tower was the source of inspiration materials used inside this Israeli home were kept as natural as possible. A concrete floor and ceiling act as two parallel planes that contain the white stucco walls presenting an image of simplicity and cheerfulness. There is no shortage of natural light here with the large framed windows also ushering in the view on offer! The open living area contains the kitchen and dining and flows onto the deck outside.
