With a smart indoor-outdoor interplay as the major factor in defining the house and its silhouette one sees the raised terrace become a part of the living space indoors. The connection between the outdoors and the living space goes beyond being merely visual as the transition between both spaces is simply seamless.
Dubbed the mezzanine level of this house hovering above the kitchen and the living area holds two bedrooms and makes the most of the height of the interior. Designed by Architekti Šercel Švec the house was built on a base plate to protect the existing root system of vegetation on the landscape and this helped sustain a lush green garden that is connected with the interior visually. Sliding glass doors offer unabated views of the neighborhood even while extending the living room into the wooden deck and garden outside.
Nestled down on the lower level of the residence is the open living area dining room kitchen and a study while the top floor houses five spacious and comfy bedrooms with wonderful river views. A parking area and sunken garden at the front of the house offer a buffer of sorts and keep out the busy street noises even as a beautiful courtyard provides a spacious hangout for the entire family.
A new foyer and a fireplace delineate space and offer more privacy to those in the living and dining room. The expansive lake views are hidden carefully by this feature and it is only when you venture in further that you realize the true magnificence on display.
It is the lower level that houses the living area kitchen dining space home theater and other social areas and seems to effortlessly transition into the large wooden decks and pool area just outside. An infinity edge pool with a Brazilian teak deck a spa and walls clad in reclaimed brick add to the exclusivity of this serene and sensational Sao Paulo home.
The problem is often not the lack of space but the way we put existing space to use. We simply do not pay enough attention to the vertical space on offer and utilize it to the hilt as this smart modern residence in Slovakia does.
But none of these proved to be a major hindrance as the creative folk from LDa Architecture & Interiors conjured and created this modern masterpiece that uses the sloped site to its advantage! The three-level interior is both spacious and serene with clean crisp design and a neutral color palette holding sway.
