Once you step inside this elegant home the image of the dark stained cedar exterior is quickly replaced by a breezy living space clad in neutral hues and an open living area that is filled with ample natural light.
Inspiration is often found in the unlikeliest of sources. It is barely a surprise then that it was the form and feel of a lifeguard tower that inspired the homeowners of this modern family residence in Israel when chalking up the images of their dream dwelling.
Despite its ultra-modern appeal there is no lack of contrast both in terms of geometry and texture inside the home with stylish wooden panels in the dining room and the home office bringing the walls and the ceiling alive.
But what sets this fabulous modern home next to apart is its striking exterior crafted mainly from Cor-Ten steel and in-situ concrete with glass and brick also being used sporadically. Giving the exterior a bright orange and modern industrial appeal this smart residence designed by Sandy Rendel Architects draws your attention instantly.
The main objective of the residence was to create a nurturing and caring environment for three young boys and to open up a world of amazing natural sights and sounds that leave them enthralled. Nestled on the river’s edge and surrounded by beautiful woods the three minimal structures of the house were placed to create private and cozy outdoor hangouts that are sheltered from the elements.
A series of rocks within a 5-meter radius of the water’s edge made the construction of this structure all the more complicated. Galvanized steel columns were directly drilled into the rocks to give the structure a sturdy base that can withstand the harsh local weather conditions.
The kitchen sits at the heart of the new interior and acts as a transition between the garden outside and the living area. White plays the role of the protagonist when it comes to the color scheme with dark shades of blue and gray ushering in visual contrast.
