The kitchen sits at the heart of the new interior and acts as a transition between the garden outside and the living area. White plays the role of the protagonist when it comes to the color scheme with dark shades of blue and gray ushering in visual contrast.
Designed by SO Architecture it is two large boxes that make up the overall design of the residence with the one on the ground providing partial support for the second box above. A steel frame also provides additional support creating an open living area that contains the kitchen and dining room.
It is hard to imagine that a home as splendid and extravagant as the in Texas was a dark and dingy structure from the 1980s until recently. The new addition to the house is purposefully different from the traditional brick exterior of the house and while it does not draw aesthetically from the old structure it follows the home’s simple lines and uncomplicated form.
