Promising a lifestyle that takes you back into the lap of nature even while delivering modern comfort and aesthetics the designed by ARCHITECTUREFIRM combines two contrasting worlds in a relaxing and ravishing fashion.
Steel-gray granite white stucco timber slats and wooden battens shape the distinct façade of this Indian home along with the generous use of glass. Completely opening up to the greenery that surrounds it the overall form of the house mimics that of a multilevel gallery.
Despite its ultra-modern appeal there is no lack of contrast both in terms of geometry and texture inside the home with stylish wooden panels in the dining room and the home office bringing the walls and the ceiling alive.
It is the creative folks from DADA & Partners that came up with a design that borrows from the aesthetics of a ‘gallery’ even while offering ample privacy and a smart interaction between the different public zones.
A cool staircase with a glass balustrade and floating steps brings light from the top level to the ground floor even as the clever placement of skylights further enhances the charming and refreshing vibe. A three-sided fireplace delineates the kitchen dining and living areas while the deck outside becomes an extension of the spacious interior.
The new open plan living area flows into the cool dining space that overlooks the deck outside with the small kitchen in white sitting next to it. A drawing room sits between the living room and the kitchen and acts as a connecting and transitional zone. Two relaxing bedrooms and a bathroom on the top level complete the exquisite makeover that finds a balance between modernity and classic elegance!
Inspiration is often found in the unlikeliest of sources. It is barely a surprise then that it was the form and feel of a lifeguard tower that inspired the homeowners of this modern family residence in Israel when chalking up the images of their dream dwelling.
